Stepping Out Into the Ocean

As we finished up 2018 and 2019 had begun it is a great time to reflect on another year of God's faithfulness to us.  These feet have been through many miles and some roads not traveled before.  

There were times these feet did a "Happy Dance" as we celebrated some HUGE "Yea God" moments.   

We added a couple of new members to our family.  

Alyssa joined our family as Titus & Alyssa got married this past August and began their jountery in life together.  This was an answer to many years of prayers that God would bless Titus with a Godly young lady to do life together with.  

God also blessed our family with little Layla who is another precious gift from God. This is Seth and Camille's 4th chid and our 7th grandchild. We are so blessed to be her grandparents.

We cheered our kids on to see them accomplish some HUGE milestones. We saw God answer a big prayer as our daughter's dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner became a reality.  Ruth put in so many hours studying and working towards this goal.  

We also rejoiced with Titus as he finished up his degree in Computer IT and Security.  He worked really hard to make that happen.  And we continue to pray for a job were he can use all the skills he learned

There were also some challenging times when God just totally picked us up and carried us when we didn't didn't have the strength on our own.  I personally have experienced some health challenges that so totally zapped my strength and energy.  We also have cried many tears with the news of a brother who has cancer.  

As we continue on this journey we know God is not finished writing our stories.  As we begin 2019 we want to follow God more closely and get to know him more deeply.  We want to love people well.  We want to embrace life and all the God has for us today.  Even if it is enjoying a fun shopping cart.  Happy 2019!

With the Stroke of a Brush

As many of you know, I do not have an artistic bone in my body.  Vern's sister however, is an artist so the other day we drove into Brisbane and went to an art gallery.  It was interesting to see the many different types and styles of art displayed.  I just kept wishing Alyssa could have been there with us since she is an artist.

Close Encounters with Australian Wildlife

A couple of days ago we went to the  Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.  It was a cool expereience as they allow you to get close with many of the animals and we were able to pet kangaroos. We enjoyed going to the different presentations and learning a little bit more about the wildlife here in Australia. I especially enjoyed seeing all of the Koalas.  I just kept wishing our grandkids could have been there with us enjoying all the wildlife with us.

Exposure to Australia Greenery

It has been really cool to see the different plants and trees here in Australia.  The other day we went to a Botanical Garden and I saw some plants and trees I have never seen in another country.
