I have a feeling this will be one of many "Empty Nest Transition" posts. About 26 years ago my sister-in-law gave us a crepe pan. That was the beginning of a family tradition in our house of Vern making crepes. (I had never eaten one before much less made one.) When we moved into the tribe it became a Sunday morning tradition to have crepes. When we moved to Canada it was a Saturday morning tradition. As more and more of our children got jobs and life got busy we did not have crepes every week but we still did eat them regularly. It was also a special morning breakfast for birthdays, Christmases, other holidays, and when one of the kids were visiting. We have come up with so many different combinations of how we eat them. Vern grew up eating them with just sugar. I love them with fruit and whipped cream and I also enjoy them with chocolate chips and peanut butter. This morning Vern looked over at me and said, "Do you want a crepe for breakfast?" Wow, we looked at each other. This is something that had always been a "Family Tradition". We had never eaten a crepe just the two of us. It almost seemed wrong to even think the thought. However, our family lives on, with the two of us now. Thanks for the amazing crepes my dear husband. You served our family for all these years of making a delicious breakfast. We have made many great family memories while we ate our crepes through the years. I am glad we can still enjoy these together.

Makes me all teary eyed.
