A New Chapter in Life Begins

Yesterday morning we left at the crack of dawn to make our way down to Lynchburg, VA.  This is the first time we have moved one of our children to university without a van.  Thankfully, Titus did not have that much stuff to bring and we were able to fit everything in the car.  This morning at 8:00 Titus was able to move into his room.  Ruth and Glenn were able to make it down from Raleigh for this big event in Titus' life so that was very special.  The Liberty campus is VERY big and it definitely was hectic trying to get around the campus as everyone else was moving in.  It is a bitter sweet time as Titus now starts this new chapter in his life.  We are excited for everything a head of him.  But like all transitions moving from what is normal and comfortable to something new and different can be hard, overwhelming, and challenging.  We would appreciate your prayers for Titus as he adjusts to university, his new home, his new routine,  studying again, making new friends, and being away from home.  Although we will not really feel it until we arrive at our home in Durhum, we would appreciate your prayers as we make the transition to an empty nest.  We have been parenting for 29 1/2 years and this is the first time that we will not have any children in our home.  So there will be lots of changes and transitions a head for us as well.  (For those of you who follow my blog you know how much I love to celebrate and make signs for every occasion.  I was close to tears when we drove up to the sections where Titus is going to be living, to see two young ladies jumping up and down with "Welcome to Your New Home" signs!  Here I have been leaving "Welcome Signs" for our new students as they arrive.  And someone is doing it for my child.  It felt Pretty Awesome"!)
